The Mood Disorders Support Group of Guelph

Peer support group serving
Guelph and Wellington County since 1990

Our approach

We offer a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where everyone, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or background, can share their experiences. We are committed to fostering a space that celebrates diversity and promotes equality, where individuals can find hope, guidance, and support in their journey. Guest speakers are featured, and free literature is available on topics related to Mood Disorders. We host outings, social events, and other activities to connect and build a supportive community.

Although we are “not” experts, we bring personal experience with mood disorders and a deep commitment to supporting one another. There is no charge for membership or attendance. We come together to discuss topics that can enhance our recovery and well-being.

Meeting Guidelines – A Living Document

* When you come here please remember: who you see here and hear here, when you leave here make sure it stays in this room. It is crucial we all feel safe.

* We agree to ‘share the air’ and not dominate the conversation.

* Instead of giving advice, we speak from our own experiences using ‘I’ statements; we recognize that one’s experience will be different from others.

* We agree to be non-judgemental; we respect other people’s differences and perspectives.
